Oh, those nervous TV execs who kept America waiting for the outcome of Jerry Turner’s spectacular rose ceremony on ABC’s “The Golden Bachelor” last week.
In Thursday’s episode 7, viewers are thrown back to a replay of a grieving Gary, 72, swearing, hands on knees and numb to his fateful Rose decision. Jerry had expressed his love for each of the three remaining contestants during the house tours and presented Leslie, 64, with a rose before bolting.
Yet “The Golden Bachelor” stopped short of revealing the painful consequences of the final rose’s decision to hang between Theresa, 70, and Faith, 61. Instead, the show deftly transitions to “The Women Tell All,” with the 14 eliminated candidates wearing stunning outfits. Ready to pounce in front of a studio audience, Jerry faces them all. Will it be pitchforks or praise? Here’s what happened.

What happened to Kathy on ‘The Golden Bachelor’? She couldn’t ‘zip’ it!
“Ladies Tell All” tackles frivolous issues, including a lively debate over the cause of the intestinal gas upset that rocked the Bachelor mansion. The battle over whether it was Edith’s homemade guacamole (which Edith vehemently denies) or Susan’s meatballs is still hilariously controversial.
Host Jessie Palmer then delves into more serious topics, pressing the Kathy-Theresa feud that eventually kicked the 70-year-old Kathy out of the house in episode 4. Cathy’s advice to Theresa to “zip it” has entered Bachelor Nation lore.
Theresa is still in the Jerry game, so she’s not there to defend herself. But Cathy is candid and reflective.
“Could I have been a little more delicate? I could,” says Cathy. “Maybe we both should have zipped it.” But there are no hard feelings. “It’s the past, it was in the moment.”
Beyond that watchable flare-up, the “Golden Bachelor” class got along admirably all season long. “We’ve all been through a lot of ups and downs,” says Natasha, 60, who goes home in episode 2. “Life is life, baby. Back.”
Kris Jenner sent video love to her doppelgänger Susan.
Fans have pointed out all season how much Susan looks like Kris Jenner, a compliment Susan loves. Jenner herself confirmed the resemblance of the “Golden Bachelor” season (“literally the best since Trista and Ryan”) and sent a video praising Susan. “You’re amazing, I love your style. Love the hair. You nailed it,” she tells Susan, who bursts into tears of joy.
John feels there is ‘unfinished business’ with Jerry.
June, 60, speaks dramatically after rushing out in episode 3 to help her daughter, who was dealing with the effects of a difficult childbirth. The sudden departure came shortly after her romantic date with Gary, who claimed she danced for joy the next morning with the love rising in her heart.
“It was so sudden, it seemed like my business was unfinished,” John said through tears. “I saw a future with someone.” She expresses hope for her romantic future with someone, but insists that she is still back in her Alexandria, Virginia, home, believing that Gary might be “waiting on the front porch.” “
Ellen thanks Gary for treating her like a princess.
Pickleball standout Ellen, 61, was left homeless in episode 5, and was still emotional about meeting Jerry for the first time. But it’s all love.
“Thank you for making me feel like a princess,” she says, as Jerry cries. Alan also has the confidence to “move on to find love.”
Jerry wisely made it a “Golden Bachelor” teaching moment, saying that Alan represented everyone on the show. “We’ve realized at our age that we’re not invisible; we have meaning, and a lot to offer,” he says. “We made history together. We have a lot to be proud of.”
Who went home crying on ‘The Golden Bachelor’? No longer believed
We finally learn the result of the long delay in the middle of the 74-minute episode. Flashback to Jerry regrouping and giving Theresa a second rose! Faith, looking despondent as she was saying, went home crying from the mansion that night without Rose. Jerry gives Faith a tender outdoor bench debrief and a determined defender of the SUV, the ultimate Bachelor farewell tribute.
Reunited on “Women Tell All”, Faith and Jerry hug each other and flat out talk for a full half minute. This is a powerful attack. Even Susan, 66, wipes away tears watching the drama.
Jerry is most concerned about promising Faith’s family that he will protect her heart during a visit to his hometown of Benton City, Washington. “And I broke that promise,” he says, looking up at the sky. “It’s so scary.”
Iman forgives Gary for his reality show dating transgression. “I know your heart is true in all good ways. You are a beautiful soul. It’s been quite a journey.”
As Palmer ends the moment for a commercial break, Faith and Jerry share another tearful embrace. You can barely hear Faith’s whisper over the applause: “I’ll always love you, Jerry.”
“Oh God,” he replies, crying again.
Which women are left on ‘The Golden Bachelor’?
In the preview for next week’s Fantasy Sweets episode, Jerry is (wait for it) smiling and declaring love. give Ladies, Leslie and Theresa. Things heat up as the tangled trio head to Costa Rica.
“People my age still kick boots,” promised Jerry. He has to enjoy the moment because he just has to choose a partner. And again, it sounds like a hassle for a widow. “The only time I felt this bad was when my wife died,” says an inconsolable Gary. But about whom? We will see.
