Rashmika thanked Amitabh on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday evening. She reposted her tweet calling for ‘legal action’ and wrote, “Thank you for standing up for me sir, I feel safe in the country with leaders like you.”

Reacting to her viral deepfake video, Rashmika said it was “horrifying” how technology was being misused, while her Farewell co-star Amitabh Bachchan called for legal action. .

Amitabh was the first to react when a fact-checker posted the deepfake clip alongside the original video of Zara Patel, a British-Indian social media personality, and legal measures to deal with deepfakes in India. and called for an urgent need for a regulatory framework. Reacting to the post, Amitabh said, “Yes this is a strong case for legalization”.

Rashmika also expressed her concern via Instagram, saying she was “really saddened” to see the video, which shows a woman in a black workout outfit inside an elevator. Her face has been modified to resemble Rashmika using artificial intelligence (AI).

Rashmika will next be seen in Sandeep Reddy Wanga’s Animal, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, and Tripathi Dumri. The film is slated to hit theaters on December 1.
